The Veil by Nicole Jean

The Veil by Nicole Jean

Lily had been abandoned at birth and her life pretty much consisted of her moving to foster houses countless of times. Lily had a heart disease which made her much different than other kids around her and due to her circumstances she harboured a lot of bitter and angry feelings. As a child, she had an imaginary friend who was her comfort. But when she grew up she forgot about those moments. When she was fifteen she moved into a new foster. To her it felt no different and she thought it would be just like every foster home. But this was where she met the guy who she loved so dearly. Jason was a few years older than her. To Lily, Jason came off as goofy and cocky but he was the first person who made her comfortable and warm. With time their relationship grew but things at home started getting disturbing. Her foster Dad forced her sometimes at night and she was breaking apart and there was only little she could take. One night things got super serious and it was the last straw both Lily and Jason could take. That night was blurry and rough. They ran away from that house and in the midst of their car ride they got into a terrible accident. Lily was able to survive but Jason did not make it. Jason was dead and her world came crashing down. After that devastating night Lily with the help of Jason's friend and suspiciously familiar guy Ian came to be in a different town. Everything in the town was strangely familiar to her. Sudden premonitions and visions starts troubling her. What is happening around her? Is it all in her mind or is it really happening. The Veil is one of those stories which made me super anxious yet I couldn't move a bit. The suspense and curiosity after every chapter is definitely nervewracking but its very interesting too. The words and writing style of the author is very captivating. I would definitely recommend this one for an exciting time.
